Alison contacted Drake’s 7 Dees for help refreshing a tired and overgrown landscape. Her expansive, terraced site had been neglected for some time. Her stately Tudor home rose up amongst weeds and dry grass in the middle of her sloped property.
Together we worked on a design to establish circulation around the property, and provide relaxing and inviting destinations. Alison wanted a pond, a bridge across the ravine, and a vegetable garden with raised beds. She had never had a vegetable garden before!
Using a mix of hardscape materials, we retained the steep slopes, built pathways, steps, and patio areas. We reduced the lawn for ease of maintenance and to lessen water dependence. The plantings provide a diverse array of color for year-round interest. Native and flowering species support wildlife habitat and pollinators.
Our crews worked day and night, sometimes through terrible weather to create a beautiful, sustainable landscape that will stand the test of time and provide Alison with a lovely outdoor experience.
