About Drakes | The Drake's Difference

It only takes a second to sense the difference. Drake’s 7 Dees Garden Center, established in the 70’s, has the family tradition feeling adorned with the newest of plants and gifts. Don’t be surprised if Drake and Lynn’s grandchildren come running into the store excitedly calling out “Grandma” or “Grandpa”. Our customers often turn their heads and smile hearing the little kid’s voices. It brings back memories of when they too might have visited the Stark Street location with their own grandma and grandpa.

For some, the new 7,000 sq foot building was a break from the tradition they grew up with. The old lath house that housed the garden center for 20 years was torn down, making room for a new building housing upscale gifts, an entire Christmas department, and organic solutions for all gardening needs. While the old building is only a memory now, the family tradition continues. Not a day goes by that a customer doesn’t comment on the longevity of the staff, the memories of shopping at the garden center with their parent, or the natural and easy environment found at the Stark Street store.

Family traditions continue to occur at Drake's. For some it is an annual trip for a fuchsia basket on Mother's Day or buying the flocked tree to celebrate Christmas. For others, it might be coming to the Garden University seminars or the monthly Sprouts Kids classes. For all, it is the confidence that Drake’s 7 Dees will continue to serve your family, as well as the next generation just as we have proudly served your parents and grandparents.
